Equality in your school…how are you doing?

With Ofsted now taking a closer look at how schools promote respect for everyone, is your school ready for the future? CSIE is offering schools an opportunity to benefit from a whole school equality audit which will give a clear picture of equality and diversity in your school. Alongside this you will benefit from a useful data set designed to evidence your successes.

Based on questionnaires from CSIE s award-winning toolkit “Equality: Making It Happen A guide to help schools ensure everyone is safe, included and learning , this is a valuable opportunity to engage the whole school community, enquire into well-being of students and staff, and address all protected characteristics covered by the Equality Act 2010.

  • Are people from different backgrounds treated with equal respect in your school?
  • Do all students feel safe and included?
  • Are staff confident to support students to challenge issues of equality and inclusion?
  • Do staff and students feel that they can be open about every aspect of their identity?
  • Are staff confident to support a pupil or colleague who comes out as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender?
  • Are staff confident about teaching students of all abilities?
  • Do school displays include positive images of all protected characteristics from the Equality Act 2010?

Option One: Materials only- £75 + p&p

Equality: Making It Happen Toolkit, including audit materials

What you can expect from CSIE:

We will:

provide all the tools you need to carry out your own whole school audit using your existing systems for gathering data

offer helpful hints and tips about how best to carry out your audit.

Option Two: A Snapshot of Equality in your School- 500 + vat

A detailed audit of your whole school community, with expert support from CSIE.

What you can expect from CSIE:

We will:

  • set up online surveys seeking the views of your staff, governors, pupils and their parents;
  • provide you with a link to each survey, for you to invite members of your school community to respond;
  • collect all responses submitted online;
  • present you with the full results, with clear information on numbers and percentages;
  • provide a synopsis of the results, highlighting what works well and making recommendations for improvements;
  • remain available to discuss with you the outcomes of the surveys and advise you on how best to implement our recommendations.

Option Three: A full Equality Audit from 1,000 + vat

A whole school community audit, fully administered by staff at CSIE, including a report on the findings and a collaboratively designed school equality improvement plan.

What you can expect from CSIE:

We will:

  • set up online surveys seeking the views of your staff, governors, pupils and their parents;
  • provide you with a link to each survey, for you to invite members of your school community to respond;
  • collect all responses submitted online;
  • carry out a detailed analysis of the data;
  • present you with the full results, with clear information on numbers and percentages;
  • provide a full report, highlighting what works well and making recommendations for improvements;
  • work with you to develop your school improvement plan in relation to equality;
  • remain available to support the next improvement cycle.

1,000+vat for schools with up to 150 pupils

1,500+vat for schools with 151-250 pupils

2,000+vat for schools with 251-750 pupils

2,500+vat for schools with 751 pupils or more pupils
